The invitation for applications to the Michinoku Academia Startup Reserve Fund, the GAP fund that supports commercialization of research at the universities participating in this platform, has been issued, and 24 research and development projects have been adopted this year. The representatives of respective research projects adopted by this GAP fund will work on business feasibility assessment as well as research and development during the implementation period. They will be working towards starting businesses based on the technological seeds or applications for JST’s Program for Creating STart-ups from Advanced Research and Technology (START).
Also, a full line of support is being provided, including seminars and workshops, face-to-face mentoring such as business feasibility assessment and pitch instructions, and individual meetings by technology licensing organizations and venture capital.
